Trans-Siberian Orchestra Departing for Holiday Hits
Wednesday, Nov. 21
Squealing guitars, pyrotechnics, and luxurious hair — everything you've come to love about … Christmas? If you happen to be a fan of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, then yes, absolutely. The holiday-centric metal/prog band is making a stop in Erie for two performances on Thanksgiving Eve. The group is made up of a cast of more than 30 musicians, with the majority of them rotating in for singing duties throughout the evening. Formed in 1993, the band rose to prominence during the late '90s as they conceived their opulent stage show, ready-built for arenas. This tour focuses on what they're known best for, renditions of Christmas classics — most notably "The Ghost of Christmas Eve," their famous adaptation of "Carol of the Bells." With plenty of onstage fireworks and specially-made video graphics synced to musical dynamics, the Erie Insurance Arena is sure to be well-lit. — Nick Warren
