Screams of Approval for Awesome Sound Ice Cream Social
Lots of fun and frozen confectionary to go around at Fat Lenny's
Saturday, Sept. 7
Fat Lenny's will be hosting their first ever ice cream social and mini music festival. This rock 'n' roll-themed "fun shop" has been around for two years now, being Erie's first and only rolled ice cream shop in one of Erie's "funkiest" neighborhoods. "I picked this event so the neighborhood can have some fun and know that we did not close, but just moved," expresses Scottie Freeman, the creator and owner of Fat Lenny's. Formerly located amongst the Shops on the Hill near midtown, Fat Lenny's new home on West Eighth Street has continued to draw crowds since migrating northward.
The event, dubbed the Awesome Sound Ice Cream Social, is sponsored by the Awesome Foundation — a group with chapters around the globe, with its Erie division directing micro-grants to the West Bayfront area. The day will feature a variety of live musical performances including Wave Trails, Midget Farmers, Stephen Trohoske, and (naturally) Ice Cream Socialists.
When it comes to food and beverages, this event will offer special discounts on all bubble tea and rolled ice cream products. If you're a fan of music, fun activities with friends and family, and frozen confectionery, then this shindig should be quite a treat.
