PROOF Pops Up at Alkeme
In case you've missed it, PROOF, Erie's acclaimed pop-up kitchen, is back at it again – this time at Alkeme. The pop-up got its start in April of 2018 at La Bella Restaurant, the first of its multitude of locations, by Chef Joe Festa. Since then, PROOF has been spotted at the Hill District Flea Market, Rebecca Mae's Drag Dinner (to a sold-out crowd) at Resolution. They have even hosted multiple sold-out seatings at Erie Ale Works and the Oasis Market. This time, PROOF's menu features a la carte options (gluten-free and vegan friendly) with a breakfast Kobe burger, chorizo pork tacos, a black bean burger, and avocado toast. "It's a fresh food menu, we make the tortillas ourselves, the sauces. Everything is sourced locally, mainly from Erie County Farms," says Chef Joe Festa (Noosa, PROOF).
Earlier this year Chef Festa returned from an extended residency in Australia, "It was really great to be back at Erie Ale Works. They are really helpful and very supportive." Festa went on to say, regarding PROOF's previous pop-up location. "It's really cool to see their project go from where they were, to where they are now," reflecting on the renovations the brewery underwent late last year.
PROOF is planning a weekly pop-up at Erie's beloved Alkeme, starting Sunday, September 6th. "[It's a] wonderful opportunity to be able to have the chance to cook in a space with such incredible culinary history" Festa commented.
