Prism Glass Recycling Offering 15 Local Drop-off Locations
Public self-serve bins provide recycling solutions across Erie County
With curbside glass recycling a thing of the past, City of Erie residents have been eager for easier ways to turn around their used bottles and jars. While Millcreek accepts curbside glass pickup, Bayfront Glass has been the go-to for glass drop-offs with both its pop-up locations and its permanent location at 1310 East Avenue. This year, a new contender, Prism Glass Recycling, has entered the fray.
Owned by Erie Management Group, Prism Glass Recycling now has 15 local drop-off locations, with plans to add more.
Recyclers simply need to look for the bright blue bins dotting the landscape. Sliding plastic doors open the self-serve metal bin, with all colors of glass are accepted. They accept "rinsed glass bottles and jars without corks, caps, or lids," with information on their webpage detailing why they cannot accept certain types of glass (light bulbs, drinking glasses, mirrors, etc.).
