PA Department of Health Reports 19 Erie County COVID-19 Deaths This Week

487 new cases were reported as vaccine totals plateau 

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 725 with 19 occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 753 deaths, with 13 occurring this week. 

There are currently 53 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with four requiring the use of ventilators.

As of now, there are 154,038 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 563 from last week), with 24,803 having received their first dose (down 69), and 73,896 who have received a booster shot (up 721). 

In the last week, there have been 487 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 620 cases reported, with 1,416 the week prior, and 1,966 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 70 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 18 compared to last week). 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases. 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 55,899, according to both the state and county Department of Health.

Pennsylvania now has 2,731,855 cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 23,025. 

So far, there have been 42,553 deaths statewide, with 656 occurring this week, and 869 last week.

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 77,837,693 cases. There have been 203,533 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 1,028,450 cases in the last 7 days.

The total number of deaths in the US is 920,097, with 2,938 in the last 24 hours, and 13,494 in the last week, and 17,819 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,477 positive cases (up 175 since last week), with 298 deaths (up five from last week). 

McKean County has 7,949 total positive cases (up 89) and 132 deaths (up one). 

Venango County has 11,066 total positive cases (up 81) and 228 deaths (up three).

Warren County has 7,125 total positive cases (up 81), and 204 deaths (up two).
