PA Department of Health Reports 18 Erie County COVID-19 Deaths This Week
620 new cases were reported as vaccine totals plateau
In the last week, there have been 620 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 1,416 cases reported, with 1,966 the week prior, and 3,363 the week before that.
Over the last seven days, there has been an average of over 88 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 114 compared to last week).
This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.
The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 55,413, according to both the state and county Department of Health.
The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 706 with 18 occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 740 deaths, with 7 occurring this week.
As of now, there are 153,475 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 602 from last week), with 24,803 having received their first dose (down 202), and 73,896 who have received a booster shot (up 689).

The total number of deaths in the US is 906,603, with 3,489 in the last 24 hours, and 17,819 in the last week, and 18,589 last week.
As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,302 positive cases (up 226 since last week), with 293 deaths (up seven from last week).
McKean County has 7,860 total positive cases (up 137) and 131 deaths (up four).
Venango County has 10,985 total positive cases (up 137) and 225 deaths (up five).
Warren County has 7,044 total positive cases (up 117), and 202 deaths (up four).
