PA Department of Health Reports 13 COVID-19 Deaths This Week
215 new cases were reported as numbers continue to fall
The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 738 with 13 occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 772 deaths, with six occurring this week.
There are currently 42 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with five requiring the use of ventilators.
As of now, there are 154,535 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 381 from last week), with 24,803 having received their first dose (down 226), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 531).
In the last week, there have been 215 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 402 cases reported, with 487 the week prior, and 620 the week before that.
Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 30 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 28 compared to last week).
The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,524, according to both the PA Department of Health.
This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.

So far, there have been 43,002 deaths statewide, with 419 occurring this week, and 339 last week.
According to the CDC, the US has a total of 78,855,000 cases. There have been 91,972 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 479,410 cases in the last 7 days.
The total number of deaths in the US is 947,882, with 1,985 in the last 24 hours, and 14,988 in the last week, and 12,797 last week.
As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,583 positive cases (up 66 since last week), with 308 deaths (up five from last week).
McKean County has 8,082 total positive cases (up 52) and 137 deaths (up five).
Venango County has 11,167 total positive cases (up 57) and 229 deaths (no change).
Warren County has 7,226 total positive cases (up 36), and 207 deaths (no change).
