New COVID-19 Case Counts Remain Steady

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 758 with three reported this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 797 deaths, with one occurring this week. 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 57,257, according to the PA Department of Health. 

In the last week, there have been 107 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, up from last week's 104 cases reported, with 88 the week prior, and 68 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of more than 15 cases per day (rising only slightly from last week's numbers). 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases. 

There are currently 19 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with no patients currently requiring the use of a ventilator.

As of now, there are 156,908 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 438 from last week), with 24,154 having received their first dose (down 133), and 78,257 who have received a booster shot (up 412).

Pennsylvania now has 2,801,534  cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 9,284. 

So far, there have been 44,550 deaths statewide, with 109 occurring this week, and 71 last week. 

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 80,526,422 cases. There have been 47,339 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 259,949 cases in the last 7 days. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 986,545, with 382 in the last 24 hours, and 6,935 in the last week, with 3,627 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,780 positive cases (up 31 since last week), with 318 deaths (up three this week). 

McKean County has 8,197 total positive cases (up 14) and 139 deaths (up one). 

Venango County has 11,249 total positive cases (up 13) and 238 deaths (no change this week).

Warren County has 7,352 total positive cases (up 13), and 210 deaths (no change this week).
