'Make It' to See Jake Owen at UPMC Park
Highly anticipated country concert, rescheduled for late July
Sunday, July 22
Fans of Jake Owen were no doubt disappointed when weather issues pushed back the date of his concert at UPMC Park, from early June to mid-July, but if there is one thing that can be said for summer in Erie, it's that it goes by fast.
After a month-and-a-half of waiting — and holding onto those tickets — fans of the country star can finally enjoy the self-taught musician's "Life's Whatcha Make It" tour in the venue normally reserved for the antics of C. Wolf. Sharing the stage with Owen will be up-and-comer Jordan Davis and special guest Chris Janson, an "explosive" artist who performed at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
It makes sense that both Jake Owen and the SeaWolves organization showed considerable determination in working toward the mutual goal of ensuring that Owen did not miss a stop here in Erie, as the artist's tour is filling baseball stadiums all around the country, and Erie's is one of the best small venues for America's truest pastime. Owen is bringing positivity wherever he goes, remarking on his website that the tour's name applies to all aspects of life, including moments like concerts. "People show up to have a good time, and the artists on stage feel that, too," he said.
There is still time to purchase tickets, which start at $42. While big-time fans of Owen might be interested in his three different VIP experiences, the "American Love" package, the "Good Company" experience and the "Where I Am" on-stage tiki package, unfortunately only the first two VIP ticket packages are still available for purchase at this UPMC Park stop.
If you're dead-set on that "Where I Am" experience, though, perhaps you can take a page from Jake Owen's book, practice some positive thinking and — who knows — maybe some tickets will find their way to you. — Cara Suppa
