Feel the FLUX with Fire-Toolz, STCLVR, and More at the Erie Movie House
Thursday, Nov. 15th
Series creator Adam Holquist has been hosting experimental electroFLUX shows at the Erie Movie House for some time now, but miraculously, he continues to find ways to improve and one-up his own lineups. This month, prolific Chicago-based producer Fire-Toolz will be delivering a headlining performance, fresh off the release of her (Pitchfork-approved, no less) 2018 release, Skinless X-1. Describable only as "strange and exciting," the producer is noted to take influence from jazz fusion, electro-industrial, new age, black metal, vaporwave, and noise improv … a bit like scanning a radio dial 20 years in the future.
Joining her will be STCLVR, a veteran of the electroFLUX series; dark ambient and industrial artist Sean Holt; and The Indeterminates, Holquist's outlet, who return following some much-needed time away.
"We were initially Johnny James and the Indeterminates," explains Holquist. "When [Jon Miller] passed away, we put the project aside for a while, and honestly, we weren't sure if we would do it again. But we've regrouped with Pat Bolla from This American Song on drums, and it feels really good, and fresh, and different, to be playing together again." — Aaron Mook
