Erie County Sees Week of 945 New COVID-19 Cases
115 new cases were reported today, with eight deaths reported this week
On Wednesday, Nov. 25, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper reported 115 new positive cases of COVID-19. This brings our cumulative total to 4,709 positive cases. There have been 41,032 negative tests in total, with 2,171 recorded this week, and 1,961 the previous week.
According to the county, there have been 945 new positive cases in the past week, with an average of 135 cases being reported each day. There have been 100 or more new cases reported each day from Nov. 11 onward.
So far, there have been 2,870 total recovered cases, with 63 announced today and 377 this week, for a total of 1,766 current active cases in Erie County.
There have been 73 total Erie County deaths reported by the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS), with eight additional deaths reported this week.
According to the Pennsylvania COVID-19 Dashboard, at this time, there are 93 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County (a nearly 50% increase from last week), with 11 on ventilators (more than double last week's amount).
Erie County's cumulative case total has more than doubled in over three weeks (since Nov. 2). The number of deaths has more than doubled in two months (since Aug. 21).
Of the cumulative cases, 55% have been female, while 45% have been male.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 6,759 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 327,829.
So far, there have been 9,465 deaths statewide. 2,470,785 patients have tested negative to date. In the last week, Pennsylvania saw 45,977 new positive cases (2,782 more than the 43,195 seen last week), 272,436 negative tests (nearly double the 138,201 seen last week), and 630 deaths (compared to the 379 seen last week).
According to the CDC, the US has a total of 11,300,635 total cases, with 1,198,099 new cases in the last seven days and 165,282 in the last 24 hours.
The total number of deaths in the US is 259,005, with 11,171 reported in the last week and 1,989 in the last 24 hours.
As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 1,635 positive cases (up 394 this week), with 14 deaths (up six this week).
McKean County has 422 positive cases (up 130) and four deaths (up two this week).
Venango County has 793 positive cases (up 178) and eight deaths (up seven this week).
Warren County has 194 total positive cases (up 70), and one death.
Ashtabula County's cumulative total is 2,283 positive cases (up 605 this week) and 54 deaths (up one this week).
Chautauqua County has a cumulative total of 1,539 positive cases (up 146) and 18 deaths (up two this week).
