On Wednesday, Mar. 17, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced 38 new positive cases of COVID-19, as well as one additional death.
March 18 will mark precisely one year from the first known cases of COVID-19 in 2020.
Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 17,875 total cases and 447 total deaths.
In the past week, there have been 311 new cases and three deaths* listed in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). On average, there were more than 44 new cases per day.
There have been 64,066 negative tests, with 3,272 this week and 2,282 last week.
According to the Erie County Department of Health, there are currently 21 people hospitalized from COVID-19, with one on a ventilator.
Of the total cases, 52% are female and 47% are male.**
