Erie County Sees Week of 273 COVID-19 Cases and Three Deaths

On Wednesday, April 7, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced 31 new positive cases of COVID-19 along with two additional deaths. 

Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 18,957 total cases and 455 total deaths.

In the past week, there have been 273 new cases and three deaths listed in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). On average, there were 39 new cases per day.

There have been 66,450 negative tests, with 767 this week and 1,617 last week. 

Of the total cases, 52% are female and 48% are male.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 4,643 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 1,024,857 cumulative cases.

So far, there have been 25,285 deaths statewide. 

In the past week, Pennsylvania has seen 192 deaths, with 217 reported last week.

In the last week, Pennsylvania saw 29,441 new positive cases (28,240 last week and 25,900 the week prior). 

So far, 5,154,718 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA, with 642,871 occurring this week. 

In the US, 171,476,655 million vaccines have been administered, with nearly 21 million this week.

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 30,662,171 total cases, with 448,712 new cases in the last seven days. There have been 61,258 new cases in the last 24 hours. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 555,231, with 7,069 reported in the last week and 781 in the last 24 hours. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 6,552 positive cases (up 180 this week), with 144 deaths (up one).

McKean County has 3,214 positive cases (up 108) and 65 deaths (no change). 

Venango County has 3,534 positive cases (up 50) and 90 deaths (no change). 

Warren County has 2,241 total positive cases (up 88), and 99 deaths (no change).
