Erie County Sees 91 Weekly COVID-19 Cases, Two Deaths

On Wednesday, June 9, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper reported  11 new positive cases of COVID-19. 

Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 21,146 total cases and 472 total deaths.  

In the past week, there have been 91 new cases one death listed in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). On average, there were more than 13 new cases per day last week, for a decrease of five cases per day compared to last week's data. 

According to the PA Department of Health, there are 112,744 fully vaccinated residents in Erie County, a 5,034 rise from last week, now accounting for nearly 42.4% of the entire population (for a 2% increase this week). There are currently 18,897 partially vaccinated residents.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 496 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 1,198,595 cumulative cases and 3,492 cases this week.

So far, there have been 27,417 deaths statewide, with 158 deaths this week (and 136 reported last week).

So far, 10,967,544 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA, with 348,063 occurring last week.

According to the CDC, there have been 304,753,476 vaccines administered in the US. 

the US has a total of 33,224,075 total cases, with 110,145 new cases in the last seven days. There have been 13,429 new cases in the last 24 hours.  

The total number of deaths in the US is 595,625, with 3,393 reported in the last week and 287in the last 24 hours. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 7,465 positive cases (up 40 this week), with 153 deaths (up two). 

McKean County has 3,800 positive cases (up 23) and 72 deaths (no change). 

Venango County has 4,079 positive cases (up 12) and 98 deaths (up two). 

Warren County has 2,623 total positive cases (up 10), and 103 deaths (no change).
