Erie County Sees 437 Weekly COVID-19 Cases and 11 Deaths
23 new positive cases reported today with five deaths
On Wednesday, Feb. 10, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper reported 23 new positive COVID-19 cases as well as five new deaths. This brings our cumulative total to 16,220 reported positive cases.
There have been 11 deaths in the last week, for a total of 413 Erie County deaths reported through the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS).
According to the county, there have been 437 new positive cases in the past week (with 677 last week and 681 the week prior), for an average of more nearly 62 cases being reported each day, down from an average of 97 the last two weeks.
There have been 57,041 negative tests in total, with 1,292 recorded this week, 1,279 the previous week, and 1,172 the week prior.
According to the Erie County Department of Health, there are currently 40 people hospitalized from COVID-19 (down four from last week) with three on ventilators (down three).
Erie County's cumulative case total has more than doubled in just over two months (since Dec. 11). The number of deaths has more than doubled in more than seven weeks. (since Dec. 21).
Of the total cases, 53% are female and 47% are male.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 3,378 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 880,291 cumulative cases.
So far, there have been 22,745 deaths statewide.
In this week alone, Pennsylvania has seen 790 deaths, with 805 reported last week and 1,237 the previous week.
