Erie County Sees 129 Weekly COVID-19 Cases, Two Deaths

 On Wednesday, June 2, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper reported  14 new positive cases of COVID-19. 

Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 21,055 total cases and 471 total deaths.  

In the past week, there have been 129 new cases two deaths listed in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). On average, there were more than 18 new cases per day last week, for a decrease of just over one case per day compared to last week's data. 

According to the PA Department of Health, there are 107,710 fully vaccinated residents in Erie County, a 3,296 rise from last week, now accounting for over 40.4% of the entire population (for a 2.5% increase this week). There are currently 20,700 partially vaccinated residents.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 580 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 1,198,595 cumulative cases and 4,848 cases this week, for a total 43% lower compared with last week. 

So far, there have been 27,259 deaths statewide, with 136 deaths this week (and 198 reported last week).

So far, 10,619,481 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA, with 298,370 occurring last week.
According to the CDC, there have been 296,912,892 vaccines administered in the US.

the US has a total of 33,113,930 total cases, with 119,561 new cases in the last seven days. There have been 9,358 new cases in the last 24 hours.  

The total number of deaths in the US is 592,232, with 3,811 reported in the last week and 431 in the last 24 hours. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 7,465 positive cases (up 73 this week), with 151 deaths (up two). 

McKean County has 3,777 positive cases (up 71) and 72 deaths (no change). 

Venango County has 4,067 positive cases (up 94) and 96 deaths (no change). 

Warren County has 2,623 total positive cases (up five), and 103 deaths (no change).
