Erie County Reports Three COVID-19 Deaths This Week

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 743 with three occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 790 deaths, with three occurring this week. 

There are currently 32 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with three requiring the use of ventilators.

As of now, there are 154,535 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 953 from last week), with 24,603 having received their first dose (down 200), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 1,3639). 

In the last week, there have been 113 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 153 cases reported, with 215 the week prior, and 402 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of more than 16 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than six compared to last week). 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,812, according to the PA Department of Health. 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.

Pennsylvania now has 2,771,566 cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 5,296. 

So far, there have been 43,962 deaths statewide, with 232 occurring this week, and 309 last week. 

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 79,445,322 cases. There have been 25,913 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 216,538 cases in the last 7 days. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 964,831, with 1,364 in the last 24 hours, and 7,079 in the last week, with 9,870 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,709 positive cases (up 25 since last week), with 311 deaths (no change this week).

McKean County has 8,137 total positive cases (up 24) and 138 deaths (no change).  

Venango County has 11,216 total positive cases (up 49) and 234 deaths (up one). 

Warren County has 7,285 total positive cases (up 59), and 207 deaths (no change).
