Erie County Reports Single-day Total of 99 New COVID-19 Cases
Health Department records 2,846 cumulative positive cases
On Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, the office of Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper reported 99 new positive cases of COVID-19, the largest single-day total since the pandemic began. This brings our cumulative total to 2,846 positive cases. There have been 36,900 negative tests in total, with a positivity rate of 6% according to AHN Saint Vincent Hospital President and CEO, Christopher C. Clark, DO, MHA.
According to the county, there have been 461 new positive cases in the past week, 163 more cases were reported compared to last week, with an average of nearly 66 cases (65.85) being reported each day.
So far, there have been 2,232 recovered cases, with 32 announced today and 315 this week, for a total of 557 current active cases in Erie County, the highest total number of active cases Erie County has seen.
There have been 57 total Erie County deaths reported by the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS), with three additional deaths reported this week.
At this time, there are 28 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with one on a ventilator.

State, Local, and National Statistics
Today, Pennsylvania saw 4,361 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 238,657. So far, there have been 9,086 deaths statewide. 2,470,785 patients have tested negative to date. In the last week, Pennsylvania saw 20,991 new positive cases, 216,262 negative tests, and 196 deaths.
According to the CDC, the US has a total of 10,170,846 total cases, with 813,601 new cases in the last seven days and 134,383 in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the US is 239,590, with 7,602 reported in the last week and 1,859 in the last 24 hours.
At the end of her televised comments, Dahlkemper noted that the growing number of deaths in the US is comparable to the total population of Erie County.
As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 813 positive cases (up 163 this week), with four deaths. McKean County has 227 positive cases (up 52) and two deaths. Venango County has 458 positive cases (up 99) and one death. Warren County has 93 total positive cases (up 13), and one death.
Ashtabula County's cumulative total is 1,301 positive cases (up 511 this week) and 48 deaths (no change). Chautauqua County has a cumulative total of 1,214 positive cases (up 84) and 15 deaths.
