Erie County Reports 3,363 New COVID-19 in a Single Week
An average of 480 new cases per day were reported this week
In the last week, there have been 3,363 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's all-time high of 4,162 new cases reported the previous week, compared to 2,970 the week prior, and 1,080 the week before that. This is the second-highest weekly total (Wednesday to Wednesday) of new cases since the pandemic began.
Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 480 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 114 over last week).
The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 51,351, according to both the state and county Department of Health. The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 654 with six occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 695 deaths, with 10 occurring this week.
As of now, there are 151,293 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 630 from last week), with 24,983 having received their first dose (up 541), and 70,786 who have received a booster shot (up 6,359).
