Erie County Health Dept. Reports Four COVID-19 Deaths This Week

he PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 745 with two reported this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 794 deaths, with four occurring this week. 

There are currently 24 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with one requiring the use of a ventilator.

As of now, there are 155,723 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 1,188 from last week), with 24,603 having received their first dose (down 14), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 1,714). 

In the last week, there have been 78 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 113 cases reported, with 153 the week prior, and 215 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 11 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than five compared to last week). 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,890, according to the PA Department of Health. 56865

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.

Pennsylvania now has 2,776,302 cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 4,736. 

So far, there have been 44,115 deaths statewide, with 153 occurring this week, and 232 last week. 

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 79,648,566 cases. There have been 26,958 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 192,833 cases in the last 7 days. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 971,212, with 939 in the last 24 hours, and 6,381 in the last week, with 7,079 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,726 positive cases (up 17 since last week), with 313 deaths (up two this week). 

McKean County has 8,154 total positive cases (up 17) and 138 deaths (no change).  

Venango County has 11,227 total positive cases (up 11) and 236 deaths (up two). 

Warren County has 7,307 total positive cases (up 22), and 208 deaths (up one).
