Erie County Department of Health Reports 15 COVID-19 Deaths This Week

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 740 with two occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 787 deaths, with 15 occurring this week. 

There are currently 34 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with one requiring the use of a ventilator.

As of now, there are 154,535 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 705 from last week), with 24,803 having received their first dose (down 234), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 999). 

In the last week, there have been 153 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 215 cases reported, with 402 the week prior, and 487 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 22 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than eight compared to last week). 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,524, according to the PA Department of Health. 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 79,165,308 cases. There have been 68,396 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 283,032 cases in the last 7 days. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 957,752, with 1,617 in the last 24 hours, 9,870 in the last week, and 9,870 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,684 positive cases (up 35 since last week), with 311 deaths (up three from last week). 

McKean County has 8,113 total positive cases (up 31) and 138 deaths (up one).  

Venango County has 11,167 total positive cases (up 29) and 233 deaths (up four).

Warren County has 7,226 total positive cases (up 40), and 207 deaths (no change).
