Erie Ale Works: Cheers to 10 Years
Local brewery celebrates a decade in suds
While brewery owners Jeff McCullor and Steve Anthony have been making beer together for a good bit longer, the official 10th anniversary of their incorporation as Erie Ale Works happens next week and the pair are celebrating with a slate of nightly plans.
"Ten years in and what a time we've had. We collectively stared down countless challenges including a global pandemic and record-high inflation all while unwavering from our values and offering our community some unique products we're quite proud of," McCullor reflects.
To celebrate their success against all odds, mark your calendars for some beer-drinking next week. Celebratory events include appearances from all of the mobile food vendors that have continually shown up to feed Erie Ale Works's customers including: The Que Abides, E Dogg's Hot Dogs, Atacolypse, A Waffle Miracle, the brand new Casey's Ice Cream Cart, and ippa Pizza Napoletana. Erie Ale Works will also be debuting a few new brews including the release of a much-anticipated autumn seasonal Oktoberfest and another beer (to be announced).
To honor their beginnings, McCullor and Anthony will be showcasing the annual return of their original five foot bar, which humbly separated beer from consumer in their very early days. There will be prizes and giveaways, a Mishka Premium vodka sampling, and more.
McCullor feel indebted to the community that has been so good to the brewery throughout the years and looks at these few days of celebration as a way to honor everyone's support, "We really have local beer fans to thank. Without them none of this would be possible – we wouldn't have a company, coworkers, a boatload of friends, or our beer. They make it all happen and we can't thank them enough for that."
The official anniversary party runs Wednesday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 8 // Erie Ale Works, 416 W. 12th St. // For more info visit: eriealeworks.com
