COVID-19 Cases Still Significant with a Steady Decline
June 2022 sees many more cases compared to June 2021
The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 793, with 12 reported in the last four weeks, while the Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 822 deaths, with eight reported in that time.
The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 61,794, according to the PA Department of Health.
This data indicates a slow downward trend from the uptick experienced in May.
Compared to the months of June and July in 2021, however, the case counts one year later are far more significant.

In the last four weeks, there have been 1,063 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health.
Over the last four weeks, there has been an average of nearly 38 cases per day (a decrease of 14 per day compared to last week).
These numbers do not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.
There are currently 22 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with two patients currently requiring the use of a ventilator.
As of now, there are 158,054 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 1,721 from last month), with 23,800 having received their first dose (down 302), and 81,654 who have received a booster shot (up 2,356).
