COVID-19 Cases Rise Slightly In Erie County, Across Country

According to the PA Department of Health, there have been 21,255 total cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County, for an increase of 20 cases this week. 

Erie County kept in step with Pennsylvania, as well as with the rest of the country, as cases increased slightly from last week's low numbers.

The Erie County Department of Health is reporting 477 total deaths. As data is verified, numbers change to reflect accuracy. 

Pennsylvania has the total number of Erie County deaths at 419. According to both state and county data, there were two COVID-19 related deaths in Erie County this week. 

According to the PA Department of Health, there are 123,570 fully vaccinated residents in Erie County, a 662 rise from last week, now accounting for nearly 46.4% of the entire population (for a 0.2% increase this week). There are currently 9,572 partially vaccinated residents.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 334 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 1,214,654 cumulative cases and 1,333 cases this week.

So far, there have been 27,759 deaths statewide, with 41 deaths this week (and 40 reported last week).

So far, 11,346,908 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA.

According to the CDC, there have been 326,521,526 vaccines administered in the US. 

The US has a total of 33,726,363 total cases. There have been 20,473 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 149,943 in the last seven days, for a more than 50% increase compared to last week.

The total number of deaths in the US is 605,140, with 212 in the last 24 hours, and 1,484 in the last seven days.

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 7,559 positive cases (up 23 from last week), with 156 deaths (no change). 

McKean County has 3,814 positive cases (up 13) and 72 deaths (no change). 

Venango County has 4,105 positive cases (up nine) and 102 deaths (no change). 

Warren County has 2,643 total positive cases (up three), and 106 deaths (up one).
