City of Erie Opens ARP Opportunities
American Rescue Plan funds available to small business owners and entrepreneurs
The American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill passed in March of 2021, allocated The City of Erie a total of $76 million in funding. The city has already determined where it will concentrate those moneys, with the full breakdown as follows:
- $20.2 million toward economic and community development
- $15.1 million toward housing
- $14.1 million toward public safety
- $12.8 million toward infrastructure
- $8.2 million toward parks and public spaces
- $5 million toward city revenue replacement
- $975,000 toward information technology
The city recently announced the designation of $9.65 million in ARP grants to be awarded from the economic and community development funding pool. Small local business owners and entrepreneurs — especially BIPOC and women — are encouraged to apply for the following:
- Community Development Initiatives ($2.15 million available)
- Residential Construction & Development Revolving Loan Fund ($2 million available)
- ARP Flagship Fund ($1 million available)
- Small Business Diversity Loans ($1 million available)
- COVID-19 Debt Refinance/Restructure ($2 million available)
- Small Business Technical Assistance ($1 million available)
- Restaurant & Entertainment Industry Relief ($500,000 available)
