Beloved Begets Unpopular at Artlore
Thursday, Feb. 13
The Box founder Jon Box and company are back with "Beloved," an exhibit in the midst of releasing their new magazine *Unpopular. Hosted at Artlore Studios, there will be artwork from Box, "Eerie" Eric Fargiorgio, and Brandi Linné. Live performances will include singer-guitarist Jesse Michael from Tiny Paper Boats, singer-songwriters Annalise Vaughn and Elle Taylor, and band In All Honesty. Spoken words performances will be given by Mark Valentine Jr., Luchetta Manus, and Bigg Wash.
Vegan gourmet bakery Sundae will provide homemade desserts at the show. For those looking for the full experience, Heavenly Henna will be at the event and will have ribbons and semicolon stencils available for glitter or henna art to represent the battle against mental illness.
The event celebrates the release of *Unpopular, a magazine with articles and stories of people battling mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The magazine focuses on daily management of these health issues as well as how to achieve goals and take care of those around you while coping.
Box said the book includes words, art, and poetry, "to inspire, give hope, reach out to those who may feel like they're alone in this battle … and hopefully in the process save someone's life ... before it's too late." - Chloe Forbes
