Album Reviews: Brotherhood of the Jam // Timeless Dominion
Self-released
4.5 stars
Brotherhood of the Jam serves up a hot 47 minutes with their new 10-track album Timeless Dominion. A blend of metal and rock 'n' roll, this album gives its listeners something to thrash around about. "The Dagger" starts off with massive metal vocals, intense guitar riffs, and quick percussion. Tracks like "Private Justice" offer driving rhythms and powerful riffs that tear through and bend into multiple tempo changes throughout the song, lyrically relevant to today's struggles. Robust chanting and elongated power screams introduce us to "Dark Legacy" — preparing us for an epic ride through its brutal songscape. "Nuclear Winter" comes in with 40 seconds of massive instrumentals, melting into a ferocious chugging with more extended screaming vocals to pair with this angsty piece. "Apparition" has a gentle, yet primal feel to how the instruments and vocals are blended, coming back to that quick intensity towards the end. Lastly, listeners are left with a tasty sludge metal piece with "Ojen the Maul." Deep and hypnotic, this song offers multiple riff changes and brings you on a rollercoaster of energy leaving listeners wanting so much more from Brotherhood of the Jam. — Cypher Eihwaz
