A Purrfect Way to Spend Your Weekend
Cat Fanciers' Association presents Kitties On the Bay
SATURDAY, AUG. 7 - 8
Are you a cat lover looking for the purrfect weekend activity? The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) returns to Erie after five years to host their beloved Cat Show-Kitties On the Bay.
Due to coronavirus precautions, the CFA was unable to have the cat show last year. However, the group is thrilled to return to Erie with more breeds and cattitude to spare.
"Not only do we have quite a few cats coming in," said show manager Christine Brown. "We have a really very impressive variety of breeds coming."
The CFA offers over 30 different cat breeds and 168 cats total in attendance from across the country. There will be 10 judges for the show with cats on display all day long. The event will also host a variety of vendors from the Pittsburgh area offering cat related products such as toys and treats.
"It's a really good opportunity to just see the cats, talk to breeders, talk to exhibitors about the different breeds and to understand your interest in potentially getting a cat," Brown explained. "You'll get to see the cats up close and personal which in many cases people would not have that opportunity."
Kitties On the Bay will also feature local rescue groups to discuss cat adoption and possibilities. While there will not be any cats available for adoption at the event, there will be opportunities to discuss with these groups.
