'90s Kids Remember to Dance
Saturday, Nov. 3
There's a few things that only '90s kids will know. Dunkaroos, Furbys, portable CD players, the sounds of dial-up internet, and of course, plenty of music. Decade nostalgia comes for us all eventually. The '80s nights of old have grown into a new kid on the block, one with an inviting neon glow. Rainbow Gardens at Waldameer Park will host its first '90s night, just in time to keep the costumes coming after Halloween has ended. Be sure to dress your best, because prizes will be awarded for the best costume/outfit. Get ready to groove in the heart, come on and slam, and welcome to the jam as DJ Tony B pumps out all your favorite hits up until the end of the Willenium. Proceeds of the night will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Erie County. Whoa, heaven's light will shine down with glow sticks aplenty and a special light show provided, as well as the preferred wrist accoutrement for any Gen X-er or elderly millennial, the magnificent snap bracelet. The Big Cheese food truck will be on hand to provide their take on the leaning tower of cheeza just in case. Whether you're a Starter Jacket type or more of the flannel persuasion, you can let your inner '90s kid free, because being yourself? Now that's funky funky fresh. — Nick Warren
